I remember the cold.. and it felt like the longest stretch of travel....

4 days and 3 nights we traveled through the Bolivian desert, from the border crossing near San Pedro de Atacama, Chille to Salar de Uyuni, Bolivia. 

It was a fun ride, in these 4 x 4 vehicles

We slept in the below freezing temperatures at altitudes of up to 4,000 meters.  These hostels are made from the same salt that is surfaced everywhere in Salar de Uyuni.

The mix of freezing cold temperatures, 4 x 4 wheeling, and the beautiful scenery made this 4 day stretch of discovery unforgetable
